THE CROWN is death/thrash metal band from Trollhättan, Västra Götaland, Sweden, formed in 1998 (1990-1998 as Crown of Thorns). Their original moniker (until 1998) was Crown of Thorns for the band’s first two albums, which had to be changed due to the US band Crown of Thorns threatening legal action. Lyrical themes: Death, Anti-religion, Satan. “Crowned Unholy” is a remake of the band’s fifth album, “Crowned in Terror”, with re-recorded vocal tracks by Johan Lindstrand, re-recorded bass tracks by Magnus Olsfelt, a new version of the intro (originally written by guitarist Marko Tervonen) now programmed by drummer Janne Saarenpää, drum sound digitally enhanced by Janne, and synthesizer-enhanced parts, all programmed by Janne. Crowned in Terror became Crowned Unholy between October 2003 and February 2004. Recorded and mixed at Bohus Sound Recording. Produced by The Crown. Mastered for vinyl by Patrick W. Engel at Temple of Disharmony in August 2018. Recommended for fans of At The Gates, Crown Of Thorns, The Haunted, Dimension Zero, Legion Of The Damned.
