Limited edition 12″ bone white coloured vinyl, format gatefold. Reissue. Sodom is one of the best known names in the international metal scene and is one of the big Teutonic four (the other three being, obviously, Kreator, Tankard and Destruction).This is really early stuff. It was early in the 1980s and there was not much that sounded like this an aggressive, amateurish mixture of Motorhead, Venom. These are, however, brilliant tracks which give a glimpse at why Sodom ended up being among the greatest: if their musicianship and technical aptitude is still not quite there, that attitude is there in its full glory. Everything that made In the Sign of Evil one of the best ever debuts in metal, was already there, although still as a germ. Of course, they were young and they had to work for a living and couldn’t be full time musicians. Recommended for fans of Destruction, Kreator, Tankard, Venom, Slayer.
